Gigsmore is a Malaysian online marketplace to hire or book short-term performers, artists, and other talent service freelancers. So, if you have a talent, you can share it with buyer community, event planners and earn income while you get booking for the next event.
Currently, gigs e-commerce is a niche business model. In a gigs e-commerce site, (such as – GigSalad, GigMasters) live performers, entertainers, musicians, dancers, and other artists offer their services on the marketplace. After that event planners, hosts, and party organizers directly make contact and hire these professionals.
Right now, GigSalad is the largest, most diverse marketplace for booking bands, performers, speakers and services for events, parties, and gatherings of all types and sizes. Charlene Yip from WebCEO Sdn. Bhd. was looking for an easy to use solution to build a talent service booking website similar to GigSalad. Gigsmore e-commerce website is built on Opencart platform. Above all, the framework is free, open-source, and provides powerful tools for online store management.
So after setting up the gigsmore.com website using Opencart, the platform was transformed into a multi-vendor marketplace. This enables anyone to register on the website and become a seller easily, similar to Amazon or eBay.
Webkul’s Opencart Multi Vendor Marketplace is a very feature riched extension, that makes a standard Opencart e-commerce store into a complete marketplace shop for businesses and merchants.
From seller’s item listing, seller profile page, seller reviews & ratings to order fulfillment, receiving payments. All of these essential online store management functionalities are available to the marketplace sellers.
After the Opencart platform installation, the default theme is applies to it automatically. But, to make the website more engaging and attractive, we still need to apply a third-party theme.
On Gigsmore, Fastor theme is applied which comes with 75 skins pre-loaded and much more features. To make this fully compatible with Webkul Opencart Marketplace Extension, we have provided theme patch files to clients.
For enabling sellers to have a complete bookings management solution, Opencart Marketplace Advanced Booking Reservation extension is installed on Gigsmore website. As a result, it allows a seller to create available booking slots mention duration, days, and set price and quantity.
Consequently resolving all the minor issues, the Gigsmore is now live and working. Now, we’ll check out some of the storefront pages of this talent booking marketplace.
In the header section, Become a Seller link is given where performers and artists can quickly sign up and become a seller on Gigsmore.
Anyone can join Gigsmore to be a seller (performer). Furthermore, there is no need to pay the sign-up fee. You just need to provide your name, telephone, email and set a password. You can also signup via. Facebook or Google account by entering your existing credentials.
You must select the Become Seller checkbox to continue towards seller sign-up process.
If an existing customer or registered user wants to become a seller on Gigsmore, there’s an option. After going to Account Settings, Become a Seller option is visible under General Menu.
After that, you can provide seller profile information which will appear on the booking page and seller profile section. Here you can upload a picture, add some description, talent, years of experience, and seller info as required.
The seller profile information is visible to customers on the seller profile page and bookings page. On the seller profile page, you can find all the service listings and reviews given by all the past clients.
A detailed seller profile section filled with all the information makes the listing attractive and increases the chances of conversions. Further, it gives a buyer a quick glance at the seller ratings & review, location, experience, and other details.
When all the information about the booking is specified by the performers, the listing becomes active. From here, the organizers can check the photos, view price, date & time availability, and then send a request for booking.
Besides that, the event organizers can view the calendar, mention event venue, read reviews, and compare pricing plans.
Before an organizer submits a booking request some details about the event and number of guests attending is a must. The standard checkout process is not present, as there is no need to select the address or choose shipping or payment method.
The buyer can log-in to the Gigsmore customer account and view the pending order status. Unless the seller confirms the order, its status will be Pending Seller Confirmation. Once confirmed, the buyer can then make the payment.
For quicker responses between the artists (sellers) and hirers (buyers), a live chat feature is necessary. Further, Charlene wanted a module that supports a private message box to the vendor, instead of email.
Opencart Buyer Seller provides all the options to store admin to manage the live chat system. From setting the default message, logo, icons, colors, file, image extensions, etc.
